Harvest Moon Inc.
Harvest Moon, Inc. is a Wyoming corporation wholly owned by Thomas (Tom) R. and Ann (Annie) M. Mullen, husband and wife. Tom was born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1960. Annie was born in Fairmont, Minnesota in 1961. They were married in 1982 and have three adult children, Jesse, Louis and Lloyd.
Tom first worked as a copy editor for the Omaha World Herald while studying at Creighton University. He also sold circulation, door-to-door for the Arkansas Democrat. In 1986 the Mullens returned to Sioux City where he worked for the Daily Reporter as its Advertising Manager. They purchased that newspaper in 1999. In 1994 he trained to be a small town publisher with Les Mann in Wayne, Nebr. while Annie helped support the family, working as a nurse. In 1996 they moved to Newcastle, Wyoming to buy into the News Letter Journal. Three years later they purchased majority interest in that paper, creating Harvest Moon as a management company. In addition to those newspapers the Mullens have owned and operated (with and without partners) the Thermopolis Independent Record, and the Green River Star also in Wyoming, the Philipsburg Mail, Silver State Post, Glasgow Courier and the Havre Daily News all in Montana, the twice-weekly Weiser Signal American and the Teton Valley News in Idaho, the Seaside Signal and the Sisters Nugget News in Oregon, and the Shelton-Mason County Journal and the Belfair Herald in Washington.
